Conscious Entrepreneurship: May I introduce Kate Schnetzer

After receiving her Masters in Business and Health Administration (while pregnant!), Kate opened a brick and mortar early parenting center in St. Louis, MO. She was bootstrapping the business and had no marketing budget, so she began creating helpful parenting tips videos for social media with an old camera she owned.

She quickly found that the videos she was creating not only helped local families, but also drove people to become customers of her business. Hundreds of videos later, she found a deep love for video marketing and started helping other entrepreneurs in her community who were struggling. What had worked so well in growing her business seemed to do the same for all of other business owners she created video for. Eventually, she closed the parenting center to open her full time boutique video marketing agency, Kate Schnetzer Video Marketing. She now helps CEOs, global leaders, and on-the-rise experts become profitable though leaders through video and visibility.

TO THRIVE — When you see yourself thriving: Do you see yourself opening up opportunities for others along the way to participate in your success, and how?

Thriving, for me, means not only creating a life of financial freedom and building generational wealth for my family, but for helping others achieve the same. Since I was a kid, I was always determined to help those around me ascend in whatever way would most positively impact them. Now, as a business owner, I want to help my team, my clients, my referral partners, my audience, and even my competitors thrive. I believe that if while we rise, we lift those around us up with us, that we will all achieve more than we ever could alone.

THE FUTURE — How do you see the face of entrepreneurship in 5 years? How do companies /brands need to adapt to secure their place in the future?

The future of entrepreneurship is all about virtual relationship building. Even when COVID is under control, doing a significant portion of our business virtually will be here to stay. Companies have already started to shift their offerings and service delivery to the online space. But they will have to shift their marketing strategy as well. Virtual selling and online marketing has less to do with actual selling and marketing, however, and more to do with building trust, relationship, and engagement online. Marketing online must be done with the intention to foster connection, provide value, and foster community. Businesses who refuse to evolve, do so at their peril.

ADVICE — What kind of advice would you like to give to an aspiring entrepreneur who feels limited due to their background or lack of resources?

I work with expert entrepreneurs day in and day out. They all believed, at some point in their journeys, that they were not good enough, knowledgeable enough, or experienced enough to be the go-to thought leader that they are now.

Additionally, almost all of them also had something in their life or past that they felt would hold them back from success. It may have been a challenge related to family, finances, health, social support, or some other hurdle.

Luckily, each and every one of them finally realized, on their own terms, that they did have a level of expertise that set them up for success. They also realized that their life experiences did the opposite of hinder them- their life experiences gave them the breadth of experience to be able to help their client achieve the deepest transformation.

DRIVE — Do you sometimes feel bad for “wanting more out of life”, and if so, why? What is your personal motivation that leads you through the hardships of entrepreneurship?

Wanting more out of life is what drives me. Not just to have wealth, but I want a life that provide me time with the people I love, healthy foods that will improve my life, freedom to explore the world, and the stability to provide what my son needs to give him the best start to life. I don’t feel bad for wanting more, but receiving more means that I can give more. More of myself to my self care, to my family, to my clients, and to the world.

THANK YOU!
