Conscious Beauty And Beautiful Minds: Interview w/ Eugenia Davis

Eugenia’s world changed when she started wearing lipstick at 26. Prior to her first experience with lipstick, Eugenia mainly wore light makeup and focused primarily on simple, natural looks. But when she discovered lipstick and how it changes your whole look, Eugenia world changed and the exploration of the many hues, styles and formulas of makeup began. Finding the perfect lipstick became her top priority, and after years she finally realized she could create her own. The Dymanz Glaze brand was born from the curiosity and discovery of makeup.

What was the first beauty routine you adopted as a child or teenager? Which emotions do you connect with this memory?

My first beauty routine started at the early age of 14. I was learning how to properly cleanse, exfoliate and moisturize my skin which became my early steps in skin prep. My grandmother and mother would tell me how important it was to keep your skin looking healthy so I continued to use what I learned every day to protect it. Those early memories I hold very dear to me and sharing with my young daughters.

CONSCIOUS BEAUTY — What meaning do you give this term?

Conscious beauty is beauty that still has you looking amazing while being conscious of how it affects our planet.

Which aspects of sustainability in beauty are especially important to you?

Looking beautiful is something that will never cease, however, it’s important that we are not compromising our future in the process. All aspects of sustainability are important: human, social and economic. The beauty industry fits into all those categories and has a role in positively impacting it.

When do you consciously feel beautiful?

The natural beauty is when I feel my most beautiful through my accessories and color palette I use. Using these helps to enhance the natural beauty I already have.

Did your approach to beauty change within the last 1–2 years?

My approach to beauty has changed drastically over the past 1–2 years of operating my business. Now that I am part of the beauty industry, I feel it’s important that I am doing my part to provide beauty products that are sustainable. That focus has contributed significantly to our success.

How would you like to see the image of beauty change within the next 5 years?

In the next five years I would love to see more conscious beauty. Educating people that we can still be beautiful and enhance our natural beauty while being environmentally responsible.

What or who inspires your beauty routine?

The women in my family inspire my beauty routine. They are respectfully 53, 50 and 40 with phenomenal skin and glow that is unsurpassed. In short, they look like teenagers!

What is your best beauty advice to others?

My best beauty advice is to take care of your skin. It’s the best beauty accessory you can have and you must protect every day as part of your routine.

Is there anything you would like to share that we have not asked you here?

I want everyone to know they are beautiful no matter what shape, color or size, we are all beautiful!

THANK YOU!
